(Montclair, CA – June 22, 2018) – Montclair Hospital Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, recently announced the grand re-opening of their newly renovated Emergency Department which will improve access to emergency services for the local community.

The expanded ED, which offers emergency services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, features a completely renovated patient care facility including four additional patient beds, an expanded ambulance bay, as well as new medical equipment. The new equipment offers the latest technology in cardiac monitors, vital sign equipment, critical care equipment, and mobile work stations for improved patient care and a more efficient workflow.

“We recognized a tremendous need in our community for improved access to healthcare, so we are very pleased to have the ability to better care for our community members with our expanded ED,” said Gail Aviado, MSN, RN, Administrator and Chief Nursing Officer at Montclair Hospital Medical Center. “In addition to new equipment and additional beds, we have also increased staffing during the busiest hours to provide the best possible care to our patients.”

Montclair Hospital was recognized as one of the “100 Top Hospitals” in the nation this year by IBM Watson Health, and was a recipient of the Healthgrades 2018 Patient Safety Excellence Award. The over $5 million invested in this project will add to the excellent patient care already taking place in the hospital.

“This expansion allows us to continue providing safe and effective emergency care with the latest technology, and we have some of the lowest wait times in the area,” said Emergency Department Director Kristy Byers. “Montclair Hospital is critical to the health and well-being of our community, and these improvements stand to make Montclair Hospital the hospital of choice for anyone seeking medical care.”
